Newly appointed head of NDMO emphasized on planning for dealing with environmental crises

The newly appointed head of the National Disaster Management Organization (NDMO), Dr. Mohammad Hassan Nami, in his visit to TDMMO on Feb 27, 2022, while visiting different sections of the organization was acquainted with the TDMMO plans, programs and the systems used in the Tehran emergency operations center (EOC).

In the meeting with TDMMO president, Dr. Nami emphasized on the need for further teamwork and organizational synergy and said: "By working together, we can play a more useful role in disaster management."

He added: "As we move forward, disasters will diversify and take on new forms. For example, we can mention environmental crises, that the formation of which threatens our lives.”

He continued that these new disasters require effective planning and action that can be achieved through greater teamwork and organizational synergy. 

He stressed the need for convening drills on different issues in Tehran and other provinces, and expressed hope that the effective result of these drills be readiness of as many citizens as possible to deal properly with disasters.

Following that TDMMO president Dr. Ali Nasiri, presented a report on the activities carried out in the organization in the fields of preparedness, prevention and rehabilitation and emphasized on the need to increase the capacity of disaster management in the operational field. At the end, TDMMO deputies provided their reports on their technical measures.
